Description

Karna's Wife: The Outcast's Queen written by Kavita Kane is a book inspired from Mahabharata. This book was published in 2013. It discusses few events of Mahabharata as seen from the eyes of Karna's wife Uruvi.

Synopsis

This book begins with Uruvi's, an accomplished Kshatriaya princess's story and her marriage to Karna - the sutaputra whom she chose over Arjun. In the novel, she has been portrayed as a witty and intelligent character who is madly in love with her husband. This book is about her struggle for being the wife of Karna who holds an inferior status in the society and her reason for being called The Outcast's Wife. It is about how Uruvi uses her intelligence and wit to get accepted in Karna's family. This book is an excellent depiction of how she slowly becomes the mainstay of Karna who comes to her for advice and solace. Uruvi stands beside Karna and becomes his true support as the entire world turns against him due to series of misfortunes. The story is also about Karna from a different perspective that gives Mahabharata a fresh feel.
