Awara Masiha is a book on biographical and literary fiction by Indian writer Vishnu Prabhakar. Awara Masiha is actually a life history of one of most revered authors of Bengali Literature, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. This book is claimed to be very addictive and it rotates around the life and works of Sarat Chandra, while portraying the anarchies occurring in Bengal and India in the 19th century. The lucid style of writing and the research driven information provided in the book makes it a prolific read for all generations.
Born in 1912, Vishnu Prabhakar was a Hindi language author. He was born in the Miranpur village of the Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh. He remained in Miranpur till he was twelve years old, finishing his primary education. He wound up his matriculation when he was sixteen in the year 1929 in Hisar, Haryana. He wanted to pursue higher studies, but due to the ongoing financial problems in his family, he was forced to look for a job. He got a job in an organisation; it was a government undertaking. Meanwhile, he continued with his studies in addition to his job, and got degrees like Prabhakar and Hindi Bhushana in Hindi, Pragya in Sanskrit and B.A. in English. In addition to his job he indulged in a keen pursuit of literature. He also linked up with a play company in Hissar. In time, he shifted to writing gradually. Vishnu Prabhakar died in 2009 after a short ailment in New Delhi. He was suffering from cardiac disorders and urinary infections. Apart from the above book, he is renowned for authoring other books, a few of which are Ardhnarishwar, Amar Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Meri Priya Kahaniya.
