A game developed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Batman: Arkham Origins serves as a thrilling prequel to the Arkham series of Batman games. This makes an exciting game for players interested in learning about the beginning of Batman, how it all began. Based on DC comics’ story, it tells the tale of Bruce Wayne, the millionaire who takes up crime fighting in the guise of Batman. It all begins with the sole aim of ridding Gotham City from the clutches of super villains. The main focus of the game is to build a foundation for the Caped Crusader by introducing him to all the characters that matter in the later sequels. The many events that take place in Origins are what sets it apart from the later games in the series. Players also get to see a younger Batman who is on his way to becoming the formidable Dark Knight. With the progress of the story, players will be pleased to see familiar characters coming into the picture. Synopsis & Feautures:
Arkham Origins features the remote claw, a new gadget which allows Batman to target two objects and pull them together to knock enemies or hit them with objects. The shock gloves allow Batman to block electric attacks, disable some enemies and stun shielded ones. The gloves can even short circuit some objects within the area. Players even get to use some gadgets used in previous series like the cryptographic sequencer used for hacking security consoles; the throwing weapon Batarang; the Batclaw for hooking on to a surface and smoke pellets for stealthy exits and entries. The explosive gel and the grapnel accelerator are an earlier version of the Grapnel Boost. Some of the characters featured in Arkham Origins besides the large ensemble cast from the history of Batman comics also include returning characters. Characters include: Batman (Roger Craig Smith), the psychopathic Joker (Troy Baker); GCPD Captain James Gordon (Michael Gough), the Penguin (Nolan North), Bane (J.B. Blanc), the assassin Deadshot, the mind-controlling Mad Hatter (Peter MacNicol) and Batman's butler Alfred Pennyworth (Martin Jarvis).
USP:
The first-person perspective allows player to highlight points of interest and holograms to act out theoretical scenarios of the crime that had taken place. The Batcomputer is useful for reviewing crimes from different angles by providing a virtual recreation of the scene. With the Batcomputer, player has the ability to move back and forth through timeline of the crime; view it in slow motion or pause it while looking for clues to advance in the game. Once a crime is solved player gets a narrated rundown of the crime. Players can even upgrade or change Batman’s costume and equipment in the Batcave which also provides access to challenge maps for combat practise.
