About the Book:
On 14 October 1956, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar publicly converted
to Buddhism at Dikshabhumi, Nagpur. The author was 17 years old when he attended that ceremony. The conversion of Babasaheb Ambedkar to Buddhism made him very curious about this religion. He started reading books on Buddhism and realized that this religion is very different from other religions of the world. Babasaheb Ambedkar attended many Buddhist World Conferences in countries like Sri Lanka, Nepal in capacity of Buddhist representative from India. He reiterated that people of deprived classes of India joined Buddhism for equality and social justice.
He also stated that more and more people from other classes of India will join us. The author was really impressed by the speeches
of Babasaheb and started to attend Buddhist Conferences despite his hectic job in Government and Air India.
From year 1978, he regularly attended World Buddhist Conferences worldwide which was an event every two years. He travelled to countries like Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand for this cause. There he met many great Buddhist leaders and philosophers around the world. He gathered vast knowledge about this religion and started writing about this religion. He also put my papers and delivered speeches. This book is a collection of those speeches and his thoughts on Buddhism.
