Background:
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a first-person shooter (2007) published by Activision. The fourth instalment of the series (excluding the expansion packs) it is also the first in the Modern Warfare line followed by a direct sequel, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The first of the series to have Mature rating it introduces a new modern setting and uses a proprietary game engine.
Set in the year 2011, the story is about a radical leader who executes the president of an undeclared country in the Middle East while a civil war breaks out in Russia led by ultranationalists. The game is set in various countries including the United Kingdom, Middle East, Azerbaijan, the Russian Federation and Ukraine with the US Force Reconnaissance Marine and a British SAS commando fighting the battle.Synopsis & Feautures:
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare unlike previous series features modern equipment including many new features, an exclusive creation for the multiplayer mode. Killstreaks enable players to kill number of enemies without perishing. It also gives players access to various assets including airstrikes and helicopter support. Player can position character in one of 3 stances: standing, crouching or prone which affects the rate of movement, accuracy and stealth. Cover protects character from enemy attack or help recover after taking bruises. There are no armour or health power ups and when the character suffers attack the screen glows red while the character's heartbeat increases. By staying out of fire player can recover from damages. A marker indicates the direction of the grenade when the character is within the blast radius of a live grenade which helps the player to either flee or even toss it back at the enemy.USP:
The multiplayer comes with various game modes containing a levelling system for players to unlock additional weapons, weapon attachments and camouflage schemes with progress in the game. With the single player mode, player can take on the role of different characters.
