David Copperfield published in 2002 by Jaico, is a beautifully written story of a young boy and his struggle in life. It is written by the very famous Charles Dickens. It was the first book written by this great reputed author and was well received around the globe.
Synopsis
David was born without a father. He was being raised by Peggotty, his housemaid who was assisting his mother. David Copperfield had witnessed the harder side of life at a very young age of 7. At 7 his mother marries another man named Edward Murdstone. He was ill treated by his stepfather and was also sent to a boarding school by the same man. After moving into a boarding school, he learns that his mother had given birth to a baby boy but soon both of them met a tragic end as soon as David returned from boarding school. Having no one to resort to, except his rude stepfather, he runs away to his only relative, Aunt Betsy. In a nutshell, the book explains the struggle of David in search of happiness and perfection in something as uncertain as life.
