"Synopsis:
Dr. Ariza Mohamed is an Associate Professor with UNIKL-RCMP in Ipoh. She teaches medical students, pre-term labour being one of the topics she covers. She graduated as a specialist in 1997 and has served as consultant specialist in several hospitals before joining the university.
She led a fairly quiet life until she was summoned in 2018 by a patient she attended to/delivered15 years ago. The patient had to be delivered severely premature, which unfortunately resulted in cerebral palsy . She had to endure a trial which spanned over 4 years which finally concluded in 2022. She was found liable for medical negligence and was ordered to pay RM8.9 million, the highest damages ever awarded at the time of writing.
This book is about the court proceedings, the trials and tribulations she had to undergo, what she had learned from it and how it had affected her. She wishes to share her story with doctors and lawyers, both practicing and potential, as well as with the general public."
