Synopsis

Because of the insult that is meted to her, she vows to wash her hair in the blood of Duryodhana, which does happen by the end of the great war. Bhima kills Duryodhana and Draupadi fulfils her vow. The figure of Draupadi stands for strength, strong will and revenge. She is very human instead of being one of the main characters in Mahabharata. This is what makes her extremely important in present time, with many works based on her as an individual. Her friendship with Krishna, who was her close confidante and guide, is considered to be modern, and especially discussed.
