It is also the name of the first game in the series. The original Dream Chronicles game was pitched to PlayFirst at the Casual Games Association event in Amsterdam in February 2006, becoming the very first adventure game to hit the mainstream casual game industry. Its prototype had been rejected by several publishers, but after coming up with the premise of Dream Chronicles, KatGames was signed-up by PlayFirst and completed the title.
