Environment is the concern of one and all. As a matter of fact, we are living on an edge in this age of environmental problems such as pollution, global warming, climate change, receding glaciers and depleting natural resources. There is need to create awareness about environment among all sections of society. The University Grants Commission’s decision of introducing Environmental Science as a compulsory subject at undergraduate level in all the universities is a welcome and worthy step in this direction. This book provides a comprehensive view of environment, environmental resources, environmental problems and environmental concerns in three sections for focused study. Section A consists of earth and environment, ecology and biodiversity, finite nature and problem of overexploitation of environmental resources.
