The book, INDIA-JAPAN RELATIONS IN THE ERA OF GLOBALISATION, analyses and describes the emerging contours of India's foreign policy visa- vis Japan. India needs a closer relationship with Japan as a viable partner which can facilitate intractable issues both in the South Asian region as well as beyond. India has emphasized on regionalism and institutionalism as the tools for effective strengthening of relationship between India and Japan. Focusing on the re-orientation of the Indian foreign policy in the context of its relations with Japan, the book highlights the close historical, economic, commercial, strategic and cultural relations with national interests as the central foci.
The book is likely to generate immense academic, scholarly and public debate on issues related to the shaping of foreign policy of India with particular emphasis on its dealings with Japan. By discussing the impact of important bilateral measures with regional and sub-regional ramifications, the book provides a new vista and a possible paradigm shift which may have long terms implications for the South Asian regional architecture and beyond.
