Machine Design, 2nd Edition explains the design of machine elements and provides a comprehensive survey of machine elements and their analytical design methods. Besides explaining the fundamentals of the tools and techniques necessary to facilitate design calculations, the text also includes extensive data on various aspects of machine elements, manufacturing considerations and materials.
The extensive pedagogical features make the text student friendly and provide pointers for fast recapitulation.
Features –
1. Chapter Objectives set the lesson plan for students and instructors by providing precise information about the chapter
2. An excellent selection of more than 300 solved problems which go much beyond the simple formulae substitution examples
3. More than 600 detailed line diagrams of machine parts to enable visualization and elucidation of the concepts
4. Practical Applications lists the real-life applications of key machine elements
5. Case Studies structured as a set of design projects to aid readers in the design of components used in the industry, such as line shafting, plumber block, screw jack, coupling on shaft, multi-throw crankshaft, etc.
