Fashion designer Marc Jacobs, an early award-winner at the Parsons School of Design, is the youngest designer to earn the fashion industry's highest tribute: The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent in 1987. CFDA again honored Jacobs with the Women's Designer of the Year Award in 1992. Jacobs’ famed Perry Ellis "grunge" collection led to his immediate exit from the company in 1993.
