Synopsis
Being married to a European Union Dipomat, author Brigid Keenan has to follow her spouse all around the world for more than three decades. A sequel to her best-selling book 'Diplomatic Baggage' published in 2005, Packing Up: Further Adventures Of A Trailing Spouse begins with the author and her spouse living in Kazakhstan and goes on to describe various adventures and misadventures faced in the place. As the prospect of retirements comes, Brigid is seen shuffling between Brussels, London and their final posting in Azerbaijan. She is later diagnosed with cancer. She navigates her daughter's wedding and also takes part in organising a literature festival in Palestine.
In the course of her journey, Brigid discovers that packing up and moving back come was going to be more difficult than she had anticipated and probably one of her biggest challenges.
About the Author
Brigid Keenan is a journalist and an author. She also worked as an editor with various magazines including The Sunday Times. She had authored two fashion histories, Travels in Kashmir and Damascus: Hidden Treasures of the Old City. After her marriage to a diplomat, she published the best-seller 'Diplomatic Baggage', an account of her life as she travelled all around the world with her spouse.
