This philips headset is a total waste of money. It has very short range, not even 5 meters effectively. If you are not sitting directly in front of the transmitter, the sound is not clear. It makes hissing sound, which hurts the ear. My suggestion is not to buy it at all.
please dont expect much better quality of sound with IR transmission.
I have used these things earlier and this is a good product. Buying it on Snapdeal is a steal compared to the other online sellers.
Overpriced, very short range...
I had bought this primarily to watch television during world cup while kids are asleep. It is perfect for the job. Good battery life. With one pair of AAA batteries o was able to see 8 matches approx. Only bug is the padding on the head phones which is made of foam which during prolonged watch becomes a tad uncomfortable but that's like splitting hair. For the money its the perfect buy
I bought this to watch late night TV prog. when my wife is asleep. However the sound is too low and there is power fluctuation to the the transmitter. Would not recommend buying.

I wasn't very sure about buying this as don't have a direct 3.5mm Audio Out on my TV. I used a RC Audio Out to Female 3.5MM AudioJack and it worked great with this headset. The Audio is parallel to Speakers & Headphones which is even better than Audio out.
