Description

Succulents are a group of plants that store water in their leaves. The leaves tend to be thick and fleshy, but some genus have thicker leaves than others. Succulents tend to thrive in dry climates and don’t like a lot of humidity. As with any other plant, proper watering will ensure the best growth and flowering. While they do need water to survive, they can endure extended periods of drought, relying on the stored water and nutrients in their leaves. If their roots are sitting in water for too long they will start to rot and die. Most succulents prefer warm temperatures and are not able to withstand freezing. Maintenance Re-pot when the plant performs clump and goes beyond the pot size. It should be done before or after the rainy season and in the spring season. Re-pot with the following proportions: 3 parts of potting soil, 1 part of grit (pumice), 1 part of the horticultural-grade sand, 1/2 part of the compost etc. Keep in a bright sunny location. Try not to water the leaves, give water to soil only. Avoid overwatering as the roots may get rot. Water the plant in the morning, between 8 to 10 am. Avoid keeping in suffocated areas or in dark room. While re-potting or propagating try not to disturb the roots. Sunlight: Partial sunlight or under Bright Indoor Lights. Soil: Avoid excess organic contents in the soil. Water: Use Ro water or soft water avoid hard water (Like well or Boring water etc.) Low for the rainy season, Moderate for winter, More than moderate for a summer Temperature: Ideal: 10 to 35 degrees C Fertilizer Dose Apply an organic fertilizer or Use Dilute Liquid fertilizer with high potassium levels Occasional feeding in every couple of months in the growing season of the plant with a Potassium-rich organic fertilizer like compost is recommended.
