The Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2010 scam is a real shocker. Like 2G spectrum scam, it is one of the biggest scams India has witnessed in the recent past. The most galling aspect of this scam is that nobody in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, and the Delhi Government's Ministry of Finance cared to stop this scam. Neither could they lay hands on the prime accused who are still out of the CBI grip. The C&AG report has put the loss to the exchequer, caused by this scam, at several thousand crores of rupees. The documents received, from various departments, including the PMO show that this big scam could have been easily prevented at the beginning stage had the PMO and other concerned ministers acted strictly as per law. The documents are solid proof that despite cautioning by many MPs and other dignitaries, no proper step was taken to save the hard-earned public money from the jaws of some corrupt people, sitting at high places. This book is an outcome of the documents obtained from the PMO and other ministries in response to the various applications filed under the RTI Act by RTI activist Vivek Garg. Though the responses were not very warm, yet the PMO and other ministries sent some eye-opening documents. While going through these documents, one is shocked to learn how the public money was looted without any fear of law. The book is an attempt by Vivek, who is also an advocate, to bring the CWG scam in public domain. A veteran in RTI activism, Vivek has been fighting for long to expose corruption at high places.
