AXiS XS is the ultimate connected digital radio device, uniquely combining multi-format radio reception with iPod and iPhone docking and wireless audio streaming from your Bluetooth® device or networked PC or Mac computer.
AXiS XS is capable of receiving a full range of digital radio standards including DAB, DAB+, FM with RDS and internet radio. Next generation multimedia services such as DAB Slideshow and RadioVis are also supported.
This compact radio features a 3.5″ colour TFT display, and is controlled via an icon-driven touchscreen user interface, enabling quick and easy navigation around the radio’s many advanced features. AXiS XS boasts award-winning audio performance, courtesy of its 8W Class-D amplifier and patented Balanced Radiator loudspeaker technology.
Completing the hardware picture, AXiS XS provides charging for a range of USB devices including mobile phones, tablets and accessories.
Visual Radio
AXiS XS features a 3.5" colour touchscreen display and is controlled via an intuitive icon-driven user interface, enabling quick and easy navigation and operation. As well as displaying station logos and album artwork (where available) in Network Audio mode, AXiS XS provides support for DAB Slideshow and RadioVis, two innovative new features that significantly enhance the digital radio experience by providing a range of full colour multi-media images and slides. Contents include a wide variety of information screens and images, including ‘Now Playing’ screens, news headlines, sports reports, weather information and traffic updates.
Wireless Network Audio Streaming
AXiS XS allows you to enjoy your entire music collection streamed from a networked PC or Mac in your home. AXiS XS supports a wide variety of audio codecs including WMA, AAC, FLAC, MP3, MP2, Real Audio. Audio streaming requires a UPnP server or PC or Mac running UPnP server software. Where available and when supported by your UPnP server software, full colour album artwork will be displayed.
Digital Music, No Wires
Thanks to Bluetooth® technology you can wirelessly stream music to AXiS XS from your iPhone, Android, Blackberry or other Bluetooth® device, such as a laptop or tablet. No physical docking necessary.
Take Charge
AXiS XS provides a standard 5V (at 2000 mA) USB power supply via its ChargePort connector, enabling you to charge a wide variety of USB devices including mobile phones, tablets etc.
Engineered To Perform
AXiS’s award-winning audio performance is thanks to the inclusion of patented Balanced-Mode-Radiator (BMR) loudspeaker technology. BMR drive units combine the performance attributes of a flat panel speaker with the pistonic movement of a conventional loudspeaker, resulting in a high performance compact drive unit that can cover a wider range of frequencies. The result is 8 watts of high-resolution digital audio from AXiS’s Class D amplifier, a smooth frequency response, expansive sound stage and deep, satisfying bass.
