About the Author:
Sadhna is a painter and a dance and music teacher. After 26 years in Air Force Bal Bharti School, New Delhi, she has her own academy . While imbibing the subtleties of abhinay and swaras in the children she has developed a very keen understanding of the purity and beauty of life itself that gets reflected in her work as a painter.
She started painting in her childhood; some of the works in this book are from her school days. Her early exposure to art laid a strong foundation for her diverse and extensive portfolio. Sadhna is a follower of the old school, deeply inspired by the works of masters like Nand Lal Bose and Raja Ravi Verma, whose influence is evident in her meticulous approach and thematic choices.
Sadhna’s journey exemplifies the harmony between tradition and innovation, discipline and freedom, teaching and learning. Her life and work serve as a motivation to the transformative power of art, inspiring others to explore their creative potential and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.

From a young age, she has been drawing and refining her craft, transforming a passionate hobby into a professional career. As the designer behind the book Shades of Petals, Nikita brilliantly uses storytelling to weave a visual tale, combining paintings and the artist's journey into an emotive theme.
