He is the author of a crime novel and two works of non-fiction, notably Cold Steel: Lakshmi Mittal and the Multi-Billion-Dollar-Battle for a Global Empire, which was shortlisted for the Financial Times/Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year. He also broadcasts and teaches journalism and creative writing. He lives on the south coast of England and is a frequent visitor to India.
