An all-time classic, The Time Machine is a Time Traveller’s tale.
The adventure begins while testing the time machine he has constructed, when the Time Traveller pulls the machine’s lever, and finds himself landing in A.D. 802,701. While exploring the future, he encounters the descendants of mankind, which by then has differentiated into two distinct species—the Eloi and the Morlocks. While the Eloi are a peaceful society, they are afraid of the dark. The Morlocks on the other hand are an ape-like primitive race who live in underground darkness and surface only at night to attack the Eloi.
After many adventures in this distorted future realm, when he returns to the site where he had arrived, the Time Traveller is shocked to find his previous time machine missing, and this is just a small part of the problem that awaits him.
How does the Time Traveller return home? What further adventures await him? Are these just imaginary futures or is this the social doom where our world, with its class distinctions, is headed?
