'Tiny Taught' educational tabs are preloaded with 7 preschool educational games, out of which 5 of them help tiny tots learn the English letters , its phonetic sounds and how to write them. The other 2 apps teach them the basic concept of counting. Teaching phonetic sounds is done through glove puppet videos using the characters 'Frogy' and 'Wormy'. Videos are used to show the writing of letters in a separate app. All apps are' in house' productions and not downloads from app stores. The apps are created by preschool teachers, child psychologists, graphic designers and children themselves! It familiarizes the child with letters that are just strange symbols to a child.
In the first half,
The preschool child's attention is kept completely on the letters. There are no distractions other than these letters that leap out themselves, pulsate in animation & glow in sync with their sounds.
The child is thus able to connect each letter with its sound. The animations and their respective audios are simple and SLOW enough for a toddler to follow and stay glued to it. Thus the child will recall letters & their sounds after repeated use.
As you keep touching the letters that glow, you go on to the next level that has colourful animated pictures that relate to the respective letter of that page. On touching each picture, it animates and the name of the picture is heard. There! Your child thus masters hundreds of words also, as she/he has fun playing.
The concept of counting is best done with fingers. The 'counting app' teaches the child the basics of counting with his/her 10 little fingers. The concept is then extended on to counting of objects. What better way to teach them fundamentals of math and make them love it in school!
