The TP-Link 4-PORT ADSL2+ MODEM ROUTER(TD-8840T) is a two-in-one device, which combines the functionality of a DSL Modem with that of a 4-Port 10/100Mbps Ethernet Router. It is designed to allow you to easily create a high-speed wired network and share it with up to four computers or other Ethernet enabled devices to the internet. The device helps you to avoid the clutter or messy cables too.
The TP-Link 4-PORT ADSL2+ MODEM ROUTER(TD-8840T) supports the latest ADSL2/2+ standards, providing higher performance of up to 24Mbps downstream and longer reach from the ISP’s (Internet Service Provider) DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplier). Unlike a Dial-Up connection, this device can keep the DSL connection always on, allowing you permanent access to the internet. Besides high speed internet connection, it also supports TR-069, which can automatically upgrade the firmware and other settings when provided from the ISP. It supports multiple protocols including DHCP and UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) for easy and hassle free network connectivity.
The TP-Link 4-PORT ADSL2+ MODEM ROUTER(TD-8840T) includes a built-in QoS engine, which helps to prioritising internet traffic to enable smooth Internet Phone Calls (VoIP) and lag-free online gaming. In addition, it includes dual active Firewalls (Packet Filtering and NAT) to help protect your network from potential attacks across the internet. Setting up the device is simple since it automatically detects DSL settings to quickly establish an internet connection. The Application Filter allows you to set access for application, protecting the network from hidden attacks, which is extremely useful for home and small office networks too. The IP QoS ensures optimum utilization of bandwidth and offers bandwidth control over congestion, preventing bandwidth abuse. It allows you to receive committed and specific bandwidth, preventing non-critical applications from degrading network performance.
It comes with a CD featuring the easy setup assistant, which helps you configure the internet in an easy step-by-step mode. Further, it allows even novice users to set up the device without sacrificing any key features.Â
